This qualification is funded under the Governments JobTrainer scheme. JobTrainer supports young people, school leavers and job seekers with access to low-fee short courses and qualifications that unlock opportunities for employment or
further training.
To be eligible for access to low-fee training through JobTrainer, you’ll need to be;
- Not currently employed, or
- Aged between 17 and 24 years and not enrolled in school, or
- Hold a Health Care, Pensioner or Veteran Affairs concession card
You will also need to meet the eligibility criteria for subsidised training.

ARO Educational Services has designed this course for students interested in acquiring the horticultural knowledge and experience; and answering the question of ‘how will horticulturists service community needs now and in the future?’ This qualification is driven by our team of skilled horticulturists and engaging guest speakers.
Successful completion of this course will expand your knowledge and skills, and enhance your employability in
cultivation and maintenance of plants in a variety of settings including councils and botanic gardens. It will
provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to work in the amenity horticulture area and will enable you to seek employment as a general horticultural worker who can operate in an unsupervised capacity. Job titles may include: Curator, Horticulturalist or Gardener.
